Wadiz(CEO Shin Hye-seong, www.wadiz.io) announced on the 20th that “Mikgot Font,” created by handwriting artist Mikgot—who raised a cumulative total of over 1.09 billion won in just one year through two funding campaigns—launched its third funding campaign on the 19th. This project marks the first time a Mikgot Font campaign has launched simultaneously worldwide, allowing international supporters to participate.
Mikot Typeface is a typeface developed by calligrapher Mikot and is known as the “handwriting style closest to a printed typeface,” as selected by Forbes Korea. Previous crowdfunding campaigns were held in February 2025 and January 2026 at Wadiz. It received an average rating of 5.0 out of 5.0 based on 230 participant satisfaction evaluations.
Even in an era where AI writes for us and digital content is everywhere, the experience of writing by hand is gaining attention as a new form of immersion. The recently published *Trend Korea 2027* describes the phenomenon of struggling to find meaningful experiences amid a surplus of content as a “society of ennui.” Participants in the previous two rounds of the Miggot Font crowdfunding campaign shared in their reviews how writing each character by hand allowed them to carve out personal time amid their busy daily lives and how they turned hand-copying into a consistent hobby.
As part of this funding round, artist Mikkot exclusively unveiled “Mikkot Type Practice Book” for the first time on Wadiz, a resource that encapsulates the handwriting expertise she has cultivated over the past 11 years. This online service allows users to enter any sentence they wish and generate a printable practice sheet in the Mikkot typeface, overcoming the limitations of traditional paper workbooks that require users to copy predetermined sentences.
In addition, the company will introduce 44 new lessons covering topics ranging from the Mi-kkot typeface theory to English handwriting and techniques for using various writing instruments, as well as the popular handwriting workbook “Master Book” and a writing instrument package.
During previous funding campaigns, users from overseas—including the U.S. and Japan—also showed interest by signing up for pre-release notifications and requesting a relaunch. Through this third funding campaign, artist Mi-kkot is set to expand beyond the domestic market into the global market at Wadiz.
WadizOn the platform, companies are continuing to expand into overseas markets not only in consumer goods but also in content sectors such as e-books and online courses. Since the global service launched last May, projects in the e-book and online course categories have received funding from 22 countries across Asia, North America, Europe, and the Middle East. One project that offered a set of brushes for digital drawing along with an accompanying course received payments from 12 countries.
Heo Ji-eun, COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Wadiz, said, “Mikkot Type is an example of a content creator with both expertise and a dedicated fan base achieving repeated success and growing on Wadiz, and using that as a springboard to expand their reach overseas.” She added, “Going forward, we will continue to expand new opportunities so that not only consumer goods brands but also a wide range of content creators can enter the global market through Wadizand achieve success beyond expectations.”
The Mikkot Typeface crowdfunding campaign runs through November 2 at Wadiz. During the campaign, a discount of up to 41% off the regular price is available.
